The entire West Michigan shoreline is blessed with beautiful beaches from the Indiana border northward to Mackinaw City, Michigan. Grand Haven is famous for its "singing sands", an unique phenomenon only to the Lake Michigan beaches along West Michigan. When walking on the sand, listen for the slightest utterings and squeaks from the sand below your feet.
Swimming season begins during the hot days of Summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Lake Michigan water temperatures change daily but typically average 60-65 degrees. During the hottest days of July & August, water temperatures reach
the low 70s.
